About Fieldlogue

Fieldlogue is a journal of photographs and close observation: coffee at a workbench, the shape of a room, a street changing in the light.

The photo archive brings together places in Korea, Australia and beyond. Each essay keeps the images at its centre. A photographed date is shown separately from the date an article was published; an older photograph is never presented as a current visit.

What belongs here

Photo Stories follow a sequence of images. Coffee & Craft looks at work and detail. Places & Design explores rooms and streets. Ideas in Focus is for sourced ideas that remain interesting after a headline passes.

How stories are edited

Images are checked against their captions. Essays describe what the archive shows, without inventing a visit, a conversation or a tasting note. Any discussion inspired by social media links back to its source and distinguishes measured engagement from a wider claim about popularity.

The existing essays use photographs from the owner's archive. When licensed third-party images are used, their creator, original page and licence are listed with the article. A reference image is labelled as such; it is not evidence of an event.
